The BEST Way to Cook Corn on the Cob

Thank GOODNESS for my new cooking blogger friend Siggy Spice! She has bestowed upon me (and many other Tasty Kitchen Members) her knowledge of the best, and as far as I am concerned, ONLY way to cook corn on the cob. If you knew about this method before and didn't share it with me - WHY!?!? You were holding out on me! And if you are currently boiling corn in salted water like I used to - STOP!! One bite of fresh corn prepared Siggy Spice's genius way will change your life forever. I am telling you - it takes corn to a new level! So sweet and buttery - it made my week old corn - that I was debating on tossing out - taste like the fresh straight from the summer sun sweet corn my mom would buy from a roadside vegetable stand when I was a girl.


Please, for the love of all things pure and beautiful, try this with your corn ASAP this summer. You will never go back to your boiled water ways again.


The BEST Way to Cook Corn on the Cob

Ingredients
6 - 8 ears corn, husks and silk removed
water
1 cup milk (whole milk is best)
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 stick butter
Directions
Fill a large pot half-full with water, making sure all corn will be covered with water. DO NOT SALT THE WATER! Salting the water draws out the moisture of the corn kernel and makes it bitter! Add the milk, sugar, and butter. Bring to a boil and add in corn cobs. Reduce heat to a simmer and allow to cook for 8 - 10 minutes or just until tender. Remove from the water and serve with butter, salt, and pepper to taste.

  3. i bet this recipe is very good but my favorite way to cook corn on the cob is a way i learned from my uncle and its very good if u buy the corn (stokes and all ) u soak all ur corn for about 30 minutes or so then place it on a rag or papertowel for idk 10 minutes till its dry then place the corn on the grill ... depending on ur grill (i have a weber ) the corn can take longer or shorter amount of time and basically the only way to tell if its dont is the stuff on the outside of the corn (cant remember the actual name of it ) is turning black or on some sides is black then wait tell the stuff on the outside s is basically funny burnt then u have ur corn its very very good but u will get burnt spots on ur corn but honestly those spots r good but this recipe is my absolute favorite
